Star Wars: Squadrons Isn't Planned to Receive Any Post-Launch Content
It's a rare occurrence when publisher Electronic Arts releases a game that it doesn't have plans for future updates or content with, merely that seems to be exactly the route that it is opting to go down with the newly-launchedStar Wars: Squadrons.
Speaking to UploadVR, the game's creative director, Ian Frazier, has said thatSquadrons currently has no plans to receive any future content. This would include non only DLC, merely seemingly free updates that would roll out over time too.
"Never say never, then to speak, but as far as our philosophy goes nosotros're not trying to treat the game equally a live service," Frazier explained. "We don't desire to say, 'It's virtually done!' and then dribble out more of it over time, which to be honest is how almost games work these days. And then nosotros've tried to care for it in kind of an old-school arroyo maxim, 'Yous've paid the $xl, this is the game and it's entirely self-contained. Nosotros're not planning to add more than content, this is the game, and we promise yous empathize the value proposition.'"
Frazier went i step further and also explained that no farther ports ofStar Wars: Squadrons are planned to come to other platforms. With the game boasting full VR-functionality, many wondered whether the title could 1 day come natively to a platform like Oculus Quest, but this doesn't sound similar information technology volition exist a likelihood.
